Fishing and Life

All you ever needed to know about life you can learn by going  fishing. Live every day like you were going fishing and you should do just fine.

1.      You must be patient. You can’t rush a fish to bite. You have to know that for good things to come you must wait.

2.      Hard work pays off. It is very rare to catch a trophy without any effort. If you don’t put in an effort you will likely fail at your task.

3.      Practice makes you better. Try to remember the first time you used a bait caster or a fly rod. The more you do something the better at it you become.

4.      No matter how much you think you know about catching fish you can always learn more. There is not a single person out there that knows everything so take the time to learn something every time you leave the house.

5.      No matter how good you are at fishing someone is usually better. Don’t get cocky, you are not the best fisherman or the best anything. If you do anything long enough you will come across someone that is better. Take it as a positive lesson and learn from those that are better than you.

6.      Sometimes you just get lucky and catch a trophy. There are some days of fishing that make you look like the best fisherman there ever was. So be humble at all times and appreciate good fortune when it comes your way.

7.      Sometimes you just can’t win. There are days on the lake when nothing bites. Everyone hits a rough patch now and again. Just pick yourself up and try again. Things will turn around in time and if they don’t it could always be worse.

8.      Sometimes the “big one” gets away when it is within your grasp. We all have had “the one that got away”, whether it be a fish or a dream. Enjoy the fact that you were that close to perfection and hope you have the chance again.

9.      Don’t get set in your ways. You can’t always catch fish using the same lure. Don’t be afraid to try new things as it will make you more successful.

10.     Fishing is always better with a good partner. Don’t try to go through life solo. You need a good net man to help you land the big one sometimes.

11.     Enjoy your surroundings and take some time to relax. Nothing beats a quiet lake on a nice summer evening. You don’t always need to be on the go and producing fish to have a good time. The same goes for life. Pause a moment now and again to take in the scenery.
